The Bridge Crossed Before

The rainbow bridge has been crossed before
The pain and grief knock down the door
We cry, we wail, we scream in our grief
We spend more nights crying to sleep

Sid was a good dog, we laughed and we played
He helped me to garden and didn't run away
He listened without judging or guilting me ever
He always had time for me, retreating never

I will miss my furry small friend
I will miss him from this day until then
He will cross my mind and in memory smile
My sweet little boy who was here for a while
